Mohave County Expects Influx Of Visitors For Dueling Events
This weekend, thousands of visitors are expected to make their way to the western part of the state, for both the Desert Storm Poker Run on Lake Havasu and the Laughlin River Run along Route 66.
Steve Padilla with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said anyone who heads to the area should be patient, especially with an influx of motorcycles expected.
“Be visual on the roadways with the motorcycles," Padilla said. "Make sure that you allow a little extra time if you’re traveling down to the river area."
Padilla encourages motorcycle riders to remember to wear helmets.
Padilla said several police departments, including from Nevada and California, coordinate operations to streamline safety at both events.
